Every year Pantone releases a colour of the year. The colour intelligence and trend forecasting company bases this decision on the global state and everything that's happening in the world. The study assesses the colour and mood influences world over to arrive at this colour. This year the colour picked was Classic Blue - a shade reminiscent of the sky at dusk.

As we enter a new era, a new decade, and as the pace of the world is ever accelerating, Pantone feels this year's colour had to be dependable, stable and familiar. A tint of predictably in an unpredictable world.

The Classic Blue has all these qualities. It's a shade we all know, a shade we have all loved at one time or the other. It's reassuring. And Pantone even says it's imprinted in our psyches as a restful colour.

Pantone adds "Aiding concentration and bringing laser-like clarity, PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue re-centers our thoughts. A reflective blue tone, Classic Blue fosters resilience.”

And we agree. It's a tasteful colour that reminds everyone of dusk - the return of another day - a comfortable feeling.

For some it's the night sky, polka-dotted with stars, for some it's the ocean, for some blue doors and walls from Jodhpur and for some, the blue roofs from Santorini.

Blue is nature's comforting and calming colour. Interestingly, it is claimed that most of the social media websites also use blue, because it relaxes and calms down the user, and promotes communication and creativity, while other colours might distract or alarm.

So as the world takes inspiration from the Classic Blue, we turned to our own studio. And here are our favorite finds:
